LAES 4-H Club prepares for upcoming events

In the coming weeks the 4-H club at Lake Arthur Elementary School (LAES) will be getting very active. Some members will be attending the parish 4-H Achievement Day on Friday, March 16.
LAES also announced several star 4-H members. These star members include Mia Broussard, Madisyn Ramour, Gabrielle Sellers, and Gabriel Chaisson.
One 4-H club member of the month for February was sixth grader, Mia Broussard.
This is Broussard’s second year in the club and is currently the Secretary.
Her accomplishments in 4-H include being voted as a club officer and helping set up the club booth at the Jeff Davis Parish Fair Booth Contest..
Broussard stated, “My favorite thing about 4-H is that we get to compete in parish events and I’m very competitive.”
She is the 12-year-old daughter of Mandy and Dustin Broussard.
Her hobbies include playing sports, watching movies, and hanging out with her friends.
A second February member of the month was Madisyn Ramour. She is in the fourth grade and this is her first year in the club. Her accomplishments in the club include spending time with animals and placing in shows.
She stated, “What I love about 4-H is it is fun. I love spending time with my animals.”
She is the nine-year-old son of Brad and Ashley Ramour.
Her hobbies include playing spending time with her animals, as well as her family and friends. She also enjoys riding bikes, playing outside, playing basketball, cheering, playing school with her friends, and coloring.
One 4-H club member of the month for March was fifth grader, Gabby Sellers.
This is Seller’s second year in the club and is currently the Parliamentarian.
Her accomplishments in 4-H include placing first in the Rice Cookery Contest.
Sellers stated, “My favorite thing about 4-H is all of the activities and contest.”
She is the 10-yearold daughter of Rachel Monceaux and Chris Monceaux.
Her hobbies include playing softball and basketball.
A second March member of the month was Gabe Chaisson. He is in the sixth grade and this is his third year in the club.
He stated, “My favorite thing about 4-H is that I get to do a lot of fun things.”
He is the 11-year-old son of Amy Chaisson and Chris Chaisson.
His hobbies include playing baseball and football and also working.
