James Ward Elementary kindergarteners spent some time Tuesday morning coloring and listening to Christmas music. The students discussed what the holiday season means to them and what they hope to get from Santa.
Students in Pauline Bourne’s kindergarten class at James Ward Elementary said they are getting excited about the approaching Christmas holiday. The students are looking forward to opening presents and spending time with their families.
The kids took a break from lessons this week to talk to Jennings Daily News about the goodies they hope to receive, what Christmas means to them and what they enjoy most about the holiday.
Tarvis Williams said he asked Santa for a robot caterpillar that attacks and rolls.
Devin Maulden would like a unicorn pillow. She said her favorite part of Christmas is being able to spend time with her mommy.
“I want a big remote control car,” said Joshua Holland.
Madison Cormier, who wants a unicorn, said her favorite part of the season is the chance that she could see snow.
“Christmas means that Santa brings us gifts,” said Kyper Boudreaux. “I want drums with drumsticks and a Batman jeep.”
Maeja Frost said she looks forward to making a snowman because snow is her favorite part of the holidays. She said she would like to receive a mermaid as her gift.
“I hope to get a choo-choo train,” said Desmond Lafleur. “I like making a snowman too.”
Abigail Guillory said she likes numbers and would like to receive blocks with numbers on them.
I want a dirt bike. I’ve been good enough to get one.”

Anthony Lamb wants a jet, a train and a plane. He said he also enjoys snow. However, he considered the possibility of getting no snow in Louisiana for Christmas and quickly came up with a plan.
“If it doesn’t snow here, I’ll just go to Wisconsin because they have snow when it’s winter,” he said.
Bowen Legros’ favorite part about Christmas is the gifts. He wants more toys. He also enjoys snow and would like to go to Wisconsin with Lamb.
Candon Beroid’s mostliked part of the holiday season is the Christmas tree.
“My mom decorated a big pretty tree,” he said.
Beroid hopes to have a Batman watch under that tree.
Peyton Lejeune likes the idea of getting gifts.
“I want a fake pony and a fake corral for the pony,” said Lejeune.
Due to the fact that Alvin Davis shares a room with his brother, he would like to get a “bump” bed as a gift.
Because he wants to be a policeman when he grows up, he also hopes for a police car and a police costume.
Kiera Mehal said she enjoys going outside and playing with snow and thinks Christmas is for spending time with family. She would like to get a friendship bracelet as her gift.
“I love Santa and my family. I want to get make-up and a bracelet for my mom and something for my dad,” said Carter Manuel. “I would like a Nerf gun and some bullets for myself.”
Adriana Lejeune said the meaning of Christmas to her is celebrating Jesus’ birthday. Still, she would like to get a pink bike this year.
“Christmas is about having fun with my mom, dad, baby sister, cousins and my Uncle Pop,” said Kyndalynn Sonnie. “It’s about having fun with my whole family.”
Sonnie said she would like a long dress for her mom and jewelry for herself.
Kali Landry wants Santa to bring her a baby doll with clothes and a dress for herself.
Asher-David Fuselier said Christmas is about getting presents and giving presents to others, as well.
“I want a dirt bike,” said Fuselier. “I’ve been good enough to get one.”
