Arthur Anthony Istre
Funeral services for Arthur Anthony Istre, 57, of Roanoke will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings, with Pastor Clifton LeJeune officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home beginning Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, from 1-9 p.m., and will resume Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, from 9 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 1 p.m.
Burial will follow in Istre Cemetery.
Arthur Anthony was born in Lake Charles on Nov. 22, 1963, to Nelson Istre, Sr., and Wilda Catherine Leger. He was called from this earthly life on Sept. 7, 2021.
Arthur worked as an industrial maintenance mechanic. He was a very outgoing, hardworking, generous man who never met a stranger. Arthur had a great love for motorcycles and Corvettes and loved working on cars.
Above all, he loved his family, spending time with all of them, making great memories and having a good time. Arthur was a kind and loving man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Arthur is survived by his three sons, Chance Istre of Jennings, Chase Anthony Istre of Lake Arthur and Christian Istre of Roanoke; his four daughters, Chastity Istre Enriquez (Hector) of Gauthier, Miss., Charming Istre of Lake Arthur, Mallory Abshire of Crowley and Cherish Istre of Roanoke; his brother, Earl James Istre of Jennings; his three sisters, Coma Anne Manuel of Ragley, Joanne Istre of Jennings and Missy Istre Robinson of Moss Bluff; his grandchildren, Tyler Istre, Ajainei Istre, Aden Istre, Aryan Enriquez, Ava Enriquez, Charmunique Wilkins, Dominique Wilkins, Jazmine Authement, Zoey LeBlanc, Braden Authement and Brantley Boutilier.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson Joseph Istre, Sr., and Wilda Catherine Leger Istre; his brothers, Elmo Michael Istre and Nelson Joseph Istre, Jr.; his sister, Sheryl Ann Istre; and his son, David Shawn Authement.
