Barbara Morvant

The family and friends of Barbara Morvant are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on Feb. 15, 2022, at the age of 66.

Funeral services for Barbara Morvant, 66, of Jennings will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, from 2:30-9 p.m., with a rosary recited 6 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, from 8 a.m. until the time of her service at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Barbara was born in Jennings to John J. Broussard and Annie Mae Mier Broussard on Oct. 16, 1955.

Barbara worked for Winn Dixie Company for many years until her retirement, and she also worked as a homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family that she adored.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose greatest joy came from spending time and making memories with her family at family gatherings. She also enjoyed cooking and going to her Pokeno group. She was a kind and warm-hearted soul who will be immensely missed by all who loved her.

Those left to cherish the memories of Barbara are her mother, Annie Mae Broussard; her husband of 49 years, Leo Morvant; her sons, Brian Raye Morvant (Mickey) and Joey Lynn Morvant (Kristin); her grandchildren, Tiffany Morvant, Kali Thompson, Jenna Morvant, Gavyn Morvant, Logan Morvant, Ainsley Morvant and Noah Morvant; her great-grandchildren, Aubree Williams, Madelyn, Heidi, Emma Gotte, Tailahni and Ali Thompson; her brother, Daniel Broussard (Sandra); and her sisters, Judy Doucet (Herb) and Susan Tall (Jeff).

Barbara is now with the family who preceded in death, including her father, John J. Broussard.
