Bernice Kibodeaux

Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice Kibodeaux, 91, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 4, 2019, in Miguez Funeral Home, with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating.

Funeral home visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, in the funeral home chapel.

Burial will be in Mermentau Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Kibodeaux died at 10:05 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019, in her residence.

Mrs. Kibodeaux was born on June 14, 1927, to Emmela Broussard and Joseph Kibodeaux in Mermentau. She was a resident of Jennings most of her life. She was a cook at Boudin King for over 35 years. She enjoyed having her friends over on Sunday afternoons for coffee and gossip. Mrs. Kibodeaux loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked watching her daytime stories and evening game shows.

Survivors include her daughter, Roxanne (Mike) Newsom of Jennings; her brother, LeRoy Kibodeaux of San Diego, Calif.; five grandchildren, Teddy (Rick) O’Quinn of Lake Charles, Kerry (Michael) Hebert of Jennings, Mallory (Matt) Fontenot of Bryan, Texas, Morgan Istre of Lake Arthur and Willy (Charlotte) Martinez of Jennings; 11 great-grandchildren; and 11 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Emmela Broussard Kibodeaux; one daughter, Clara Patin; one grandson, Bobby Ortego; and nine siblings.

The family would like to thank Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care, Dr. Achee and Dr. Griffith for all their care for their mom. Special thanks to ALL her caregivers.

Pallbearers will be Mike Newsom, Trae Hebert, Tanner Hebert, Keegan Guidry, Adam Kibodeaux and Michael Hebert.

Honorary pallbearer will be Matt Fontenot.
