Bertie Lois Guillory
A Mass of Christian Burial for Bertie Lois Guillory, 93, of Oberlin will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Vijay Peddeju officiating.
Visitation will be held in the Memorial Chapel of White Oaks Funeral Home of Oakdale Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, from 10 a.m. until departure for the church.
A Holy Rosary will be prayed at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, in the Memorial Chapel.
Committal service will follow in Reed Cemetery in Oberlin.
Bertie entered into eternal rest Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, in her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was born Jan. 14, 1928, in Oakdale to the union of John Johnson and Aurelia Vidrine Johnson. She was a Catholic by faith.
Bertie was retired from Jefferson Davis Parish School Board. She was a strong, independent and loving person who cared deeply for all her family and friends. She was a very hard worker and had many talents.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Aurelia Johnson; her husband, J.D. Guillory; two brothers, Cephas Johnson and Cedric Johnson; and one sister, Elaine Dean.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are three sons, Derek (Deborah) Guillory of Pineville, Bill Guillory of Jennings and Randy (Claire) Guillory of Maurice; two daughters, Sherrie (David) Boudreaux of Berwick and Barbara (Johnny) Latiola of Iota; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Guillory, Trent Guillory, Stuart Guillory, Tyler Guillory, Johnny Latiola and Zeke Trahan.
The family wishes to thank hospice and her caregivers for the wonderful kindness and care given to our mother, grandmother great-grandmother and aunt.
