Carl Lynn ‘CJ’ Miller, Jr.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church for Carl “CJ” Lynn Miller, Jr., 28, of Jennings at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021, with Father Keith Pellerin officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home today, Friday, July 9, from 2-10 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. The family requests that visitation resume Saturday, July 10, from 8 a.m. until the time of his funeral Mass at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Carl “CJ” Lynn Miller, Jr., was born in Crowley on Friday, Oct. 9, 1992, to Carl Miller and Lisa LaCombe Miller. He was called from this life on Wednesday, July 7, 2021.
CJ worked as a valve technician, a job he loved. He also loved being outdoors and going to the beach. CJ loved telling everyone he was “living the dream” and he never met a stranger.
His greatest joys came from spending time with his family. He loved his girls with all his heart and was a wonderful Daddy to them. CJ was a good son, husband, father and friend. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left behind to cherish CJ’s memories are his parents, Carl and Lisa Miller of Jennings; his beloved wife, Katlyn Blair Miller of Jennings; his two beautiful daughters, Ruby Miller and Eloise Miller of Jennings; his two sisters, Mandi Batey (Keith) of Jennings and Hollie LeBlanc (Ferroll) of Jennings; his paternal grandparents, Jimmy and Faye Miller; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy LaCombe; his great-grandmother, Mabel Landry; his two godchildren, Carleigh and Peyton; and his eight nieces and nephews, Chloe, Cayleigh, Cooper, Nolan, Anne, Glenn, Wade and Lucy.
CJ is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard LaCombe; and his paternal great-grandparents, Bruce and Hannah Miller and Edward Landry.
Those chosen to honor CJ as his pallbearers will be Jim Miller, Kollan Richard, Mike Daigle, Keith Batey, Bradley Reiners and Derrick Crader.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kendall Meche, Jerrod LeJeune, Taylor Wallett, Michael Wallett, Jacob Guinn, Cody Hebert, Charles Cassidy, Spencer Marceaux, Cooper Batey, Ferroll LeBlanc and Lonnie Benoit.
