Chester Matthew Landry
LAKE ARTHUR — Funeral services for Mr. Chester Matthew Landry, 62, were held Monday, May 16, 2022, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Craig Davis officiating.
Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until the time of service and remained open until 8 p.m.
Honoring his wishes, a cremation followed the visitation under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Mr. Chester was born on July 17, 1959, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Omar Landry and Dorothy Lamb Townsend. Being a native to the Lake Arthur area, Chester worked
Being a native to the Lake Arthur area, Chester worked as a tugboat captain for many years. He loved guns and was an avid deer hunter. He was a member of the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office, Lake Arthur Police Department, Lake Arthur Fire Department and District 4 Fire Department.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 37 years, Evelyn Dupuis Landry; daughter Shonda Landry of Lake Arthur; son Ethan Landry and fiancé, Jill Gary of Jennings; grandson Eli Landry (Poppy’s little man and his pride and joy); sisters Deanna (Clay) Taylor of Corpus Christi, Texas, Goldie Landry of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., and Marylin Landry of Brookhaven, Miss., along with numerous stepbrothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister and his stepmother, Pauline Landry.
