Dakota Allen Chaisson

Funeral services for Dakota Allen Chaisson, 22, of Lake Charles were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, at 11 a.m.

A gathering of family and friends was held at the funeral home Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, from 8 a.m. until the time of his service at 11 a.m.

Dakota was born in Lafayette on Sept. 16, 1997, to Kenneth Durgan and Tracee Chaisson. He was called from this earthly life on Nov. 29, 2019.

Dakota liked to box, take pictures and listen to music. He also liked to take care of his chickens and dogs and make people smile. Most of all, Dakota loved spending time with his family. He was an amazing dad. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dakota is survived by his fiancé, Tytiana Shepherd of Lake Charles; his father, Kenneth Durgan of Sioux City, Iowa; his mothers, Barbara McDowell Durgan of Lake Charles and Tracee Chaisson of Jennings; his three children, London Fowlkes of Lake Charles, Zy'Ria Chaisson of Lake Charles and Dynasty Chaisson of Lake Charles; his four brothers, Kavaian McDowell of Jennings, Skyler Authement of Jennings, Zackery Chaisson of Jennings and Kevion Johnson of Sioux City, Iowa; his sister, Amber Byrd of Jennings; his grandparents, Brenda Durgan, Joe Boutte, Ronald Coleman and Ruth Smith; his mother-in-law, Ericka Shepherd of Lake Charles; his favorite niece, Dakavia McDowell; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.

Dakota was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Theresa McDowell; and his aunt, Kimberly Chaisson.
