Daniel ‘Dan’ Singley Welch, Sr.
Daniel “Dan” Singley Welch, Sr., 80, passed away on Aug. 2,2021 in Pensacola, Fla.
Dan was born March 14, 1941, in Richton, Miss. He attended Jennings High School and the Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Mo.
Dan and Clara Alice Low Welch, the love of his life for 49 years (married Feb. 25, 1972) are members of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Texas.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary Biven (Doug) and Mildred Martin; niece, Elizabeth Massaro (Michael); sons, Daniel (Danny) Singley Welch, II (Kim) and John Randall Welch; daughters, LaDonna Cagnon, Tanya Henry (Richard) and Brenda Welch-Nichols; grandchildren Adriana Poole (Brandt), Micah Welch, Ryan Baty, Matthew Henry (Rachel), Jacob Henry (Maureen), Brady Nichols (Kate), Brock Nichols, Brelee Nichols, Brandon Welch and Blake Welch; great-grandchildren, Hunter Baty, Addyson Baty, William Poole, Nolan Henry and Knox Henry; cousins, Nicki, Rob and Janet Boykin; brothers-in-law, Henry C. Low and Dr. Walter Low (Theresa); sisters-in law, Dorothy Grimsley and Mary Lou Hughes; as well as a host of loving extended family including nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Alice Low Welch; his parents, John Kenneth (Kenny) Welch and Dorothy Nolan Welch; daughter-in-law, Christy Welch; grandson-in-law, Brian Baty; cousins, Gene Welch (Norma) and Bill Boykin; and other extended family members.
