David Sneed
David Sneed, 60, of Baton Rouge passed away at home on the morning of Friday, Oct. 22, 2021.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021, in Resthaven Funeral Home of Baton Rouge, with Fr. Paul Yi officiating. Organist was Joe Smaldino and soloists were Tracey Dantin and Sharon Ducote.
Visitation was held at the funeral home Tuesday, Oct. 26, from 6-8 p.m. and continued Wednesday, Oct. 27, form 9 a.m. until time of service.
David was born in Jennings to Arthur O. And Helen Clement Sneed. He married Angela Istre Aug. 8, 1981, in Jennings.
David was an educator his entire life, as a training director with McDonald’s, a Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader and a high school social studies teacher in New Orleans and Thibodaux. He proudly received his Eagle Scout rank at age 13 and was honored to receive the Silver Beaver as an adult in Scouting.
David is survived by his wife, Angela Istre Sneed; his three children and their spouses, Joshua Sneed of Baton Rouge, Jacob Sneed (Skotti) of Cypress, Texas, and Rebecca Sneed Rumney (Andrew) of Houston, Texas; his three brothers, Arthur O. “Bo” Sneed, Jr. of Jennings, Jerry Sneed (Diane) of New Orleans and Terry Sneed (Patty) of Beaufort, S.C.; his mother, Helen Clement Sneed; and his five grandchildren;
He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur O. Sneed.
