Doris Francis, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Doris Francis, Sr., 89, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021, at St. Paul Baptist Church, located at 1502 S. Main St. in Jennings, with Rev. Pernell R. Trent, Sr., officiating.

Visiting will be held in the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral.

Final arrangements are entrusted to Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings.

Mr. Doris Francis departed his earthly life on April 18, 2021. He was born Feb. 20, 1932, in Jennings to Andrew Francis and Emma Breaux Francis.

He attended Jefferson Davis High School and worked as an orderly at Jennings American Legion Hospital for 20 years and, later, at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Lake Charles.

In 1952, Doris and Ristine were united in Holy Matrimony. Together, they raised three sons, Arthur D. “Ricky Lee” (Loleta) Francis, Norwen T. Francis and Harlie E. Francis, and one daughter, Tamika Francis Dons. He later had four additional children, Michael Francis and Doris Francis, Jr., of Jennings and Tyeisha Marks and Faith Anderson (Donta) of Monroe.

Doris leaves to cherish his memories his children, Arthur, Harlie, Tamika, Michael, Doris, Jr., Tyeisha and Faith; one sister, Joyce Lee Francis; a dear friend, Mary Leblanc; a special niece, Mavis Otis; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.
