Dorothy ‘Katan’ Ann Roy Broussard
LAKE ARTHUR - The family and friends of Dorothy “Katan” Ann Roy Broussard are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on June 19, 2021, at the age of 82.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy Broussard was held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at 10 a.m., with Reverend Roland Vaughn officiating.
Visitation was held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur on Monday, June 21, 2021, from 3-9 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. At the request of the family, visitation resumed Tuesday, June 22, 2021, from 8 a.m. until the time of her Mass.
Dorothy was laid to rest in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
Dorothy was born in Cypress Island to Frank Everett Roy and Verna Miller Roy on Nov. 29, 1938. She enjoyed spending her time baking bread, gardening and sewing. Dorothy also liked to listen to French music and absolutely loved animals.
Above all, her greatest pride and joy were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be significantly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Nolan Joseph Broussard of Lake Arthur; son, Douglas (Tammy) Broussard of Lake Arthur; daughter, Verna Broussard of Lake Arthur; grandchildren, Kelsey Monceaux, Avery Monceaux, Allie Monceaux, Ethan Broussard and Emma Broussard; greatgrandchildren, Cadence, Luke, Olivia and Emery; and sister, Janelle (Daniel) Touchet of Jennings.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Verna M. Roy; and brother, Norman Joseph Roy.
