Eddie Jean Gary

It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Eddie Jean Gary announces her passing from this life on Aug. 2, 2019, at the age of 76.

Funeral services for Eddie Jean Gary of Jennings were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Monday, Aug. 5, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., with Father Charles McMillin officiating.

A gathering of family and friends was held at the funeral home beginning Sunday, Aug. 4, from 2:30-8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation resumed Monday, Aug. 5, from 8 a.m. until the time of her service at 10:30 a.m.

Eddie was laid to rest in Bertrand Cemetery following her services.

Eddie was born in Elton to Louis Lopez and Vernice Crochet on March 12, 1943. Eddie was a homemaker who dedicated her life to the care of her family. She loved to listen to music, dance and go to parties. Eddie was a kind and loving person who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Eddie is survived by her daughter, Donna Pavlik of Jennings; as well as nieces, nephews and numerous extended family and friends.

Eddie was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Vernice Lopez; and her sister, Jeanette Lopez Trahan.

Carrying Eddie Gary to her final resting place in Bertrand Cemetery will be Michael Strachan, Jr., Ja’Khai Hunter, Kendall Trahan, Cliff Landry, Kent Trahan and Webster Bourgeois.
