Emma Louise Benoit passed away at her lifelong home in Lake Arthur on Jan. 3, 2023. She loved her family more than life itself. Every chance she got, she would tell whomever she was talking with how proud she was of her sons and all they would do for her.
Throughout her life, Emma was a talented crocheter, knitter and photo scrapbooker. She was a huge Yellowstone fan and loved to cook for her family.
Emma was an incredibly humble woman. Even though her cooking was always delicious, she would leave you with her famous words, “It’s not worth a plug nickel!”
She will be dearly missed by all the lives she blessed. She is survived by her three sons, Darren Benoit of Jennings, Steven Benoit (Yvette) of Jennings and David Benoit of Lake Arthur; five grandchildren, Jocelyn Landry (Brian), Chris Benoit (Meredith), Kayla Benoit, Katlyn Bowers (Caleb) and Landon Benoit; one great-grandchild, William Benoit and one brother, Milton Conner (Mary).
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Stanford Benoit; infant son Gregory; parents Murphy and Lillie Mae Martin Conner; stepmother Winnie Suire; grandson Derrick Benoit; great-grandchild Benjamin Lee and two sisters, Virgie Hebert and Lois Spence.
