Eulina Davis

Funeral service for Mrs. Eulina Davis, 97, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with Father Jude Fernando officiating.

Visitation will be held in the church from 9 a.m. until time of service, with a Rosary at 9:45 a.m.

Burial will be in Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Davis entered into eternal rest on Jan. 7, 2020, at Jennings American Legion Hospital. She was a native of Eunice and was the last of 10 children born to the late Joseph Broussard, Sr., and Olamp Thomas.

Eulina was baptized at an early age in the Roman Catholic Church. At age 17, after the death of her parents, she moved to Midland and attended St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Mermentau. She moved to Jennings in 1947 and joined Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Preston Davis and to this union, six children were born. Eulina, affectionately know as “Mom,” was a homemaker and babysitter of neighborhood children and her grandchildren.

Eulina’s memories will be cherished by her loving children, Renella (Taylor) Mayfield of Los Angeles, Calf., Hubert Broussard, Martin Haywood (Murnette) Broussard, Sr., both of Jennings, and Matthew Rayford-Coco (Wanda) Broussard of Monroe; one daughter-inlaw, JamesEtta Davis of Jennings; one son-in-law, Hardy L. Obey, Sr., of Inglewood, Calif.; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends.

Eulina was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Davis; one daughter, Geneva Davis-Obey; and one son, Albert J. Davis, Sr.
