Eva Cormier
JENNINGS — Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service celebrating the life of Eva Cormier on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023, at 10 a.m. with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. Burial will immediately follow in LeBlanc Cemetery.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023 at 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. by Deacon Mike Tramel. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023 at 8 a.m. until the time of her services at 10 a.m.
Eva C. Cormier passed away in Galveston, Texas on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023, while surrounded by the love of her family at the wonderful age of 95 years young. Eva was born on Saturday, Sept. 29, 1928 in Little Chenier. She was one of ten children born unto the union of Jean L. Miller and Margaret Clement Miller. Eva was a homemaker who dedicated her life to the care of her family, which is adored. In her lifetime, she was involved in numerous organizations, as well as volunteering for numerous activities with her church and community such as volunteering as a Catechism teacher for 11 years, a communicate of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, President of the Legion of Mary for six years and an active member of Alanon for 21 years. She also volunteered at the Oil and Gas Park for 15 years. Above all, she was proud of her children, adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Eva is survived by her daughter, Martha Roy (Ron); her three sons, Steven A. Cormier (Sandie), Curtis Cormier, Jr. (Kristy Donaldson), Joseph Cormier (Melissa); her sister, Jacqueline Claudette; her four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Eva has now joined the family that preceded her in death, her parents, Jean and Margaret Miller; her beloved husband, Curtis P. Cormier; two brothers and six sisters.
