Eva D. Comeaux
Funeral services for Eva D. Comeaux of Jennings will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, at 2 p.m., with Father Charles McMillin officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home today, Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020, from 3-9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m.
Eva will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.
Eva was born in Jennings on Saturday, May 24, 1930, to René Duplechian and Alice Thibodeaux Duplechian. She entered into eternal rest on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020.
Eva was a homemaker who dedicated her life to the care of her family. She liked to read and watch TV. Eva was a member of the Ladies Altar Society, VFW and American Legion. Her greatest joy came from cooking and spending time with all of her family. Eva was a kind and loving person who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Eva is survived by her beloved husband, Luther Comeaux of Jennings; her son, Kenneth (Martina) Comeaux of Hathaway; daughters, Karen (David) Doiron of Spring, Texas, Vickie (Rocky) Blanchard of Midland, Darlene (David) Fontenot of Jennings and Cynthia (Darrell) Pierce of Hathaway; six grandchildren, David, Lucas, Brianne, Justin, Callie and Cait; and five great-grandchildren, Ty, Anna Kate, Bowen, Rylan and Olivia.
Eva now rejoices in heaven with her parents, René and Alice Thibodeaux Duplechian; her sister, Eula Mae Young.
Those chosen to honor Eva as her pallbearers will be David Doiron, Rocky Blanchard, Lucas Blanchard, Kevin Young, Josh Bertrand and Garrett Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ty Blanchard and Rylan Bertrand.
