Hazel M. Touchet
The family and friends of Hazel M. Touchet of Jennings are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called to her heavenly father on Sunday, April 9, 2023, after a brief illness. Funeral Services for Hazel M. Touchet, 77, of Jennings will be held at Grace Community Baptist Church in Gottes Cove at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, April 12, 2023, with Rev. Gary DarDar officiating.
A gathering of family and friends was held at Matthews and Son Funeral in Jennings on Tuesday, April 11, from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will resume today, Wednesday, April 12, at Grace Community Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until the time of her service at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow in Grace Community Cemetery. Hazel was born in Jennings to Rufus Miller and Zeline Miller on Saturday, April 14, 1945. She was a graduate of Iota High School. Hazel was a homemaker who dedicated her life to the care of her family, as well as working outside of the home in the banking industry for many years before leaving and working with her beloved husband, Herb, as the owners/operators of H&H Tire for 30 years.
She also loved to work in her garden, entertain family and friends and spend time with her grandchildren at her camp in Toledo Bend. Hazel was a kind and loving person and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Hazel is survived by her son, Chris (Keli) Touchet of Jennings; her grandson, Eli D. Touchet of Jennings; her foster grandson, Gave LeDoux of Moss Bluff; her brother, Gerald (Brenda) Miller of Iota; her sister-in-law, Verbie Miller of Iota and her brother-in-law, Irby Beaubeouef of Vick.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Zeline Miller; her beloved husband, Herbert “Herb” Touchet; her son, Joel “Jay” Touchet; her brother, James “Jim” Miller and her sisters, Leona (Grady) LeVrier, Faye M. (Louis, Jr.) Patin, Mary Lou Beaubeouef and Lucille (Robert) Morvant.
Those chosen to honor her as her pallbearers will be Eli Touchet, Bradley Myers, Scott Patin, Dane Morvant, Shane Miller, Ethan Reed, Darrell Self and Tyler Ardoin.
