Herbert Joseph Touchet

The family and friends of Herbert Joseph Touchet are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on July 12, 2021, at the age of 78.

Funeral services for Herbert Joseph Touchet, 78, of Jennings will be held at Grace Community Baptist Church in Iota today, Thursday, July 15, 2021, at 10 a.m., with Brother Gary Dar Dar officiating.

A gathering of family and friends was held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Wednesday, July 14, from 4-8 p.m. Visitation will resume today,Thursday, July 15, at the church from 8 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow in Grace Community Cemetery.

Herbert was born in Jennings to Wilbert Touchet and Elizabeth Touchet on Nov. 8, 1942. Herbert owned and operated H&H Tire and Kwik Lube.

He loved watching NASCAR racing and going to his camp in Toledo Bend. Herbert also loved being outdoors, especially when he was working in his garden, cutting his grass or fishing.

His greatest joys came from spending time and making memories with his family and friends. Herbert was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Herbert is survived by his beloved wife, Hazel Miller Touchet of Jennings; his son, Chris Lynn Touchet (Keli)) of Jennings; his grandson, Eli David Touchet; his godchild, Gabriel Jon LeDoux; and his two brothers, Johnny Touchet of Monroe and Bobby Touchet (Annette) of Jennings.

Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Elizabeth Touchet; and his son, Jay Touchet.
