Ida Louise ‘Bay’ Vital Bouxie

Ida Louise “Bay” Vital Bouxie, 84, departed this life Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at Camelot Brookshire Nursing Home in Jennings.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, 2019, at Union Baptist Church, located at 1014 S. Main St. in Jennings, with Pastor Gerald Perkins, Sr., officiating.

Visitation will be held in the church from 8 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Jennings under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary.

Ida was born on Feb. 22, 1935, to Melvin and Adeline Vital of Welsh. She worked at Jeff Davis Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide.

She leaves to cherish her memories her two daughters, Berneta Gaines Bias and Juliet Pearl Pitre (Paul), both of Jennings; one brother, John F. Jackson of Los Angeles, Calif.; four grandchildren, Marcus Achane, Zachary Washington, Karmen Achane and Keelin Washington; five greatgrandchildren, Teshona, Zhyrielle, Xavier, Marli and Aiden; and a host of stepchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Adeline Vital; her husband, Joseph P. Bouxie; two stepsons, Roy Bouxie and Joseph P. Hall; and two grandsons.
