Ida Mae Pitre
Funeral services for Ida Mae Pitre, 91, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, located at 310 N. Sarah Street in Welsh, with Father Pradeep Gali officiating.
Visitation will be held from 8:15 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.
Burial will be in Bon Pasteur Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings.
Mrs. Pitre peacefully entered into eternal rest at Jennings American Legion Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Dec. 28, 1928, in Welsh to the late Alex Prudhomme and Sylvania Mitchell Prudhomme. She was a faithful and loving wife to the late James Pitre and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories two daughters, Sylvia Marie Vickers of Houston, Texas, and Delesse Marie Lewis of Welsh; six sons, Gussie (Marjorie) Pitre of Lake Charles, John Earl Pitre of Welsh, Gilbert Pitre of Roanoke, Rolland (Jackie) Pitre and Robert (Linda) Pitre, both of Welsh, and Paul N. (Juliet) Pitre of Jennings; one brother, Clarence (Kitty) Prudhomme of Welsh; one sister, Mariah Drake of Welsh; 27 grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Mrs. Pitre was preceded in death by her husband, James Pitre; and parents, Alex and Sylvanis Prudhomme.
