Jacob Touchet

LACASSINE — Funeral services for Jacob Touchet, 67, was held on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings, officiated by president Bobby Aucoin. Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings. Visitation resumed on Thursday at 8 a.m. until services began at 4 p.m.
Jacob was born on January 15, 1956, to Nelson Reed Touchet and Clara Belle Broussard. Jacob was a “people” person who never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. He worked many years in the oil field and briefly in the shrimping business. Those closest to him knew him as a jack of all trades, capable of fixing anything. He was a faithful Christian and active member of the Church of Latter Day Saints. He loved being outdoors, music, motorcycles, and trail riding, and above all, being with his family, who meant everything to him. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Jacob is survived by two sons, Shannon Reed Touchet of Lacassine, and Stacy Edward Touchet (Andrea) of Lacassine; and two stepchildren Danny Wayne Hollowell (Amy) of Moss Bluff and Tina Lynn Hollowell of Lacassine; grandchildren Dakota Reed Touchet (Shyenne) of Cheyenne, Wyo., Kynadee Touchet, Clayton Sharpe, Lane Touchet, Lydia Touchet, Clara Touchet, Keith Benoit, Devin Benoit (Courtney), Jewels Hollowell, Danica Bergeron (Curtus), Lyndsey Hollowell, Ayden Hollowell, Ashton Hollowell and Abel Hollowell; great grandchildren Aubrey, Bentley, Kace and Emersyn Benoit, and Tallan and Waylon Hollowell; his mother, Clara Belle Touchet; and one sister, Gertrude Touchet.
Jacob is preceded in death by Claudia Jane Touchet, Shirley Lynn Touchet, Susan Diante Trahan, Nelson Reed Touchet, Edward Mier (Betty), Edier Touchet (Enola), and George Broussard (Coralie).
Those selected with the honor of serving as his pallbearers will be Shannon Touchet, Stacy Touchet, Dakota Touchet, Clayton Sharpe, Lane Touchet, Devin Benoit and Keith Benoit.
Honorary pallbearers were Ayden Hollowell and Ashton Hollowell.
