Jacqueline “Jackie” Bougard

JENNINGS — Funeral Mass for Mrs. Jacqueline “Jackie” Bougard, 68, of Jennings, was held on Monday, May 1, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings with Father Keith Pellerin officiating. Jackie passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 30, 2023 in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary was recited. Visitation resumed Monday morning until the time to leave for church.

Burial took place in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jackie was born Oct. 25, 1954, in Jennings, Louisiana, to Remy Sonnier and Aline Marie Pauwels. She was active throughout the community in many ways and a servant to all. She will be forever remembered for being so generous and giving of her time and many talents. She worked throughout her career serving Jennings and the Jeff Davis Parish area as a business owner of Cajun Wiring and Signs Plus. Jackie lived a life surrounded by many loving friends and her extended family whom all meant more to her than anything.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Bougard; daughter, Angie Sturcken of Jennings; sons, Marcus (Katharina) Bougard of Jennings, Bobby (Jessica) Bougard of Jacksonville, Fla. and Andrew Bougard of Jennings; sister, Janine (Douglas) Hollier of Jennings; brothers, Henry (Cynthia) Sonnier of Lake Charles, Robert Sonnier of New Orleans and Billy (Debbie) Sonnier of League City, Texas; grandchildren, Lauren Bougard, William Sturcken, Emily Bougard and Maverick Bougard.

She was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Our Lady Immaculate School.
