James ‘Allen’ Pousson
On Sunday, June 13, 2021, James “Allen” Pousson, surrounded by his loving family, passed from this life to his heavenly life at the age of 82.
Funeral services for James Allen Pousson, 82, of Jennings will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata Monday, June 21, 2021, at 11 a.m.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings beginning Sunday, June 20, 2021, from 4-8 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume Monday, June 21, 2021, from 9-10:30 a.m.
Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
Born Sept. 10, 1938, in Eunice, Allen was the son of Andrew and Edna Pousson. Throughout his life, he was a true hobbyist of model airplanes and photography, as well as a self-taught, skilled woodworker, his very favorite creative endeavor.
Allen was kind and generous with his time and deeply loved by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Allen will be remembered by his daughters, Angie Champagne of Lafayette and Monique Pousson of Memphis, Tenn.; his son-in-law, Mark Champagne; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Lydia and Eli Champagne; his sisters, Stella Duhon and Maryann Thibodeaux; his brothers, Lyndon, Danny and Eddie Pousson; as well as his extended family, Jordan and Sarah Harding, their children, Olivia, Andrew and Jonathan, and Jordan’s brother, Johnny Harding.
Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Carol Champagne, who passed away in 2006; his companion, Joyce Harding ,who passed away in 2020; and his brothers, Andrew, David and Nicholas Pousson.
