James ‘Son’ Doucet
Memorial services for Mr. James “Son” Doucet, 90, of T-Mamou will be held today, Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, at 10 a.m. in Miguez Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Paul LeFleur officiating.
Visitation will be observed from 8:30–10 a.m. today, Thursday, in the funeral home.
Interment with Military Funeral Rites will follow in Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Mr. Doucet passed from this life into the next at 8:57 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Doucet was a retired farm manager. He loved to garden and ride his Gator around the house. His most special times were spent with his family.
Mr. Doucet proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Bridgette and Emmit Parsley of T-Mamou; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bryce and Catha Doucet of T-Mamou and Blair and Debbie Doucet of Westlake; sister, Doris Guillory of Jennings; four grandchildren, Josh and Krissy Parsley, Samantha and Jake Pousson, Haleigh Doucet and Alex Doucet; stepgrandchildren, Mike and Joy Lantz, David and Toni Lantz and Sherena and Corey Sneed; five great-grandgrandchildren, Ariana and Briana Ho, Bentley Pousson and Owen Parsley and Wyatt James Parsley; best friend, Elma Dean Durio; and his furry friend, Daisy Mae.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Denise Leger Doucet; wife, Clara Young Doucet; sister, Racie Ortego; and brother, Phillip “Jr” Doucet.
The family would like to express their gratitude to staff of Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Terri Millett and Kelly Breaux. Also to his caregivers, Sandra Wallbrown, Dana Thibodeaux and Monique Bush.
