Jared Scott Hannon

A Mass of Christian burial was held at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church for Jared Scott Hannon, 44, of Jennings on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019 at 11 a.m.. with Father Charles McMillin officiating.

Visitation was held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home beginning Friday, Jan. 18, from 3-9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. The family requested that visitation resume Saturday, Jan. 19, from 9 a.m. until the time of his funeral Mass at 11 a.m.

Burial followed in St. Jules Cemetery.

Jared was born in Crowley on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 1974, to Sam W. Hannon and Nelwyn Aguillard Hannon. He was called from this life on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019.

Jared was a self-employed contractor, a job he loved. He was a 1992 graduate of Jennings High School. Jared also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Jared was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jared is survived by his parents, Sam and Nelwyn Hannon of Iota; his wife, Abby Hannon; his three sons, Jacob Scott, Cooper Jude and Nathan Cole, and his daughter, Jenna Marie, all of Austin, Texas; his brother, Chet Hannon (Jessica) of Tee Mamou; his 10 nieces and nephews, Mackenzie, Sister Maria Faustina, Jenny, Grace, Philip, Andrew, Gianna, Maria, Jude and Peter.
