JENNINGS — A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Elton for Joan Kennedy, 83, who passed away May 13, 2024 in Jennings.
Father Anil Alexander will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Friday, May 17, 2024 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Jennings Matthews Funeral Home and will continue Saturday, May 18, 2024 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Elton. A rosary will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery following Mass.
Joan was a faithful member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Elton and a proud member of the Altar Society and Catholic daughters. She retired from the Jeff Davis Parish School Board and worked many years as a cashier at the Coushatta Casino in Kinder.
She is survived by her daughter Donna Babineaux (Tony); three granddaughters Ashley Medina (Al), Kristy Cairns (John), Brittany Babineaux; one sister Marie Verrett; great-grandson Gabriel Medina; great-granddaughter Eleanor Medina; son-in-law Kevin Cinquemano and daughter-in-law Marjorie Morvant.
She is preceded in death by her husband Donald “Donnie” Kennedy, her parents John and Marie Reine, her twin brother John Reine, her son Robert “Bobby” Kennedy, grandson Jared Cinquemano, daughter Deanna Cinquemano, granddaughter Mindy Kennedy, great granddaughter Addie Babineaux and sister Juanita Louque.
Pallbearers will be John Verrett, David Verrett, Michael Verrett, Christopher Verrett, Daniel Louque and Ryan Crochet.
