Joyce Ann Fournet

JENNINGS — It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Joyce Ann Fournet announces her passing from this life on July 31, 2023, at the age of 82. Joyce was born in Bogalusa to Octave Hymel, Sr., and Layde Mae Rodrique on September 12, 1940. Joyce dedicated her life to the care of her family. She was a Eucharistic Minister. She was also an administrative assistant at Our Lady Immaculate Catholic School. She loved working with children in the class and on the playground. She was a kind and loving person and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Joyce is survived by her beloved husband, Jerry Fournet of Jennings; her two sons, Jerry Alan Fournet, Jr. and Justin David Fournet; her two daughters, Jacqueline Lawrence (Asa), Jennifer Wilson (Chris); her two brothers, Anthony Hymel (Yvonne) and Octave Hymel, Jr. (Betsy); as well as her two grandchildren, Jessica Cloud Ortega (Anthony) and Kristen Cloud.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Octave Hymel, Sr. and Layde Mae Rodrique.

Funeral services for Joyce Ann Fournet, 82 of Jennings, were held at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church on August 3 at 2:30 p.m.

A gathering of family and friends was held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on August 3 from 10 a.m. until the time of her service at 2:30 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 11:30 a.m.

Honoring Joyce’s wishes for cremation to follow her service. And a graveside service may be announced at a later date.
