Joyce Daigle
It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Joyce Daigle announces her passing from this life on Oct. 27, 2019, at the age of 85.
Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings today, Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, at 2 p.m.
A gathering of family and friends was held at the funeral home Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 3-9 p.m. Visitation will resume today, Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 8 a.m. until the time of her service at 2 p.m.
Burial will follow in China Cemetery.
Joyce was born in Hathaway to Theodore Edalgo and Ethel Mae Tupper Edalgo on Aug. 25, 1934. She worked as housekeeping supervisor at Jeff Davis Nursing Home. She loved to clean, cook and bake. Most of all, Joyce loved having family and friends over to visit. She was a kind and loving woman who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Joyce is survived by her two sons, Larris Daigle of Evangeline and Jimmy Lee Daigle of Evangeline; her daughter, Lisa Ann Hollbrook (Christopher) of League City, Texas; her five grandchildren, Christopher, Glen, Michelle, Jenifer and Emily; her three stepgrandchildren, Nicholas, Holly and Andrew; her nine great-grandchildren; and her one great great-granddaughter.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Ethel Edalgo; her beloved husband, Elvern Daigle; one brother, Ray Edalgo; and three sisters, Edith Deville, Loyce Bernard and Arlene Stakes.
