Julie “Judy” Broussard was born on October 26, 1947, to Claude and Adeline Doucet from Mermentau.

Julie was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved us dearly throughout her lifetime. She was our mom and our strength, the force upon which we relied on. She was strong and worked hard. She exuded grace throughout her life. She was devoted to her family and friends. She worked alongside her husband, Lewis, for over 40 years. They owned Lewis’ Flying Service in Morse. For her children, she volunteered for various school groups. She was a fixture in MHS Band Booth for many years at the Rice Festival. Representing her field of work, she served in various offices for the Louisiana Women’s Agriculture Aviation Association and held her final office of President. She also participated in the National Women’s Agriculture Aviation Association and held the office of President. She was a caregiver for her elderly in-laws as well as her mother. We, as her family, cannot do enough to express the depths of our gratitude for the sacrifice and her love. We were denied more days and years with her due to PSP striking her down.

Julie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lewis; her four children, Chris (Lisa) Broussard of Broussard, Paula (Jason) Carrier of Jennings, Jennifer Broussard of Morse and Kayla (Brandon) Dupuis of Jennings; six grandchildren, Jake (Danielle) Broussard, Jonah (Zoe) Broussard, Justin (Baleigh) Broussard, Brooke Dupuis, Julianna Hebert and Blaire Dupuis; great grandchildren, Norah Jayne, John David, Ahnaleigh Kate, Jack Taylor and Kate James; as well as her two brothers, Ronnie Doucet and Randall Doucet; her sisters-in-law, Ann Suire and Sally (Earl McClelland) and brother-in-law Richard (Deborah) Broussard.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Adeline Doucet, her in-laws, Austin and Annalee Broussard, brother Wallace Doucet, sister-in-law Joni Broussard and brother-in-law Daniel Suire.

The pallbearers will be Julie’s grandsons, Jake, Jonah and Justin, her godson/nephew, Ryan Doucet and special friends, Jarrod Breaux and Greg Faulk.

Special thanks to her caregivers, Gloria Miller, Leslie Hardy, Penny Cantrelle, Candice Stanford and Lauren Lasalle, who took excellent care of her every day for two years and Lamm Hospice. We could not have done it without them.
