Linda Sue Navarre

Linda Sue Navarre, 71, passed away Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, at her home in Hathaway while surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home from 3:30-9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, with a Rosary at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue from 8-10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at the funeral home, followed by funeral services at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Hathaway at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow at Raymond Hathaway Community Cemetery.

Born March 2, 1950, in Lafayette to Watson and Grace Beard, she later married Rickey Andrew Navarre, Sr., and the two spent 51 years together raising four children and spoiling 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Linda was a kind, caring woman and an incredible matriarch to the Navarre clan. She will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her family.

She is survived by her husband; sons Rickey Andrew “Bozo” Navarre, Jr., (Monica Ardoin) and Johnathon (Amanda) Navarre; daughters Tina Navarre (Dean Trahan) and Michelle Crochet; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Patricia Trahan; and brother James (Florence) Beard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Margaret Beard; her brother, Robert “Bubba” Beard; and brother-in-law Mervin Trahan.

Carrying Linda to her final resting place will be Johnathon Navarre, Rickey Andrew Navarre, Jr, Rickey Andrew Navarre, III, Kegan Navarre, Zackary Crochet, Cameron Navarre, Hayden Navarre and Trinity Vicaro. Honorary pallbearers are Ethan Navarre and Ian Navarre.
