Loretta Doucet
It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Loretta Doucet announces her passing from this life on June 27, 2019, at the age of 97.
Funeral services were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at 2 p.m., with Brother Thomas Patterson officiating.
A gathering of family and friends was held at the funeral home Saturday, June 29, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of her service at 2 p.m.
Burial followed in Bluff Cemetery.
Loretta was born in Evangeline to Willis Doucet and Adeline LaCombe Doucet on June 18, 1922. She worked as a sales clerk. Loretta was a very faithful woman who loved to attend her church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. In her spare time, she loved to do word search puzzles and cook. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Loretta is survived by her brother, Thomas J. “TJ” Doucet of Evangeline; as well as numerous extend friends and family.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Adeline Doucet; her three sisters, Ester Arnold, Rose Ashook and Mildred Doucet; and her brother, Roy Doucet. To extend online condolences, please visit www.matthewsandsonfuneralhome.net.
