Malcolm Neil ‘Mickey’ Rasberry

Malcolm Neil “Mickey” Rasberry passed away peacefully on Monday, July 4, 2022, at the age of 85.

Funeral services will be held today, Friday, July 8, 2022, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Iota, with Rev. Warren Langford, Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Crowley, officiating.

The family requests visiting hours be observed today, Friday, from 9:30 a.m. until service time.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum in Iota.

He was born on June 22, 1937, in Evangeline. Mickey was a lifelong resident of Iota, a rice farmer and a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.

He enjoyed all the beauty of nature and the outdoors. In his early years, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. After he retired, he loved tending his garden, birdwatching and watching the sunset.

Mickey is survived by two daughters, Stacey Rasberry of Tee Mamou and Robin Rasberry of Katy, Texas, and two grandchildren, Devin Douget and Joshua Bragg.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Loretta LeJeune Rasberry; his parents, Dodds and Hattie Lucille Underwood Rasberry; two sisters, Jeroldean R. Dommert and Sandra R. Weathersby and two brothers, Walter “Butch” Rasberry and Donald Rasberry.

Pallbearers for the services will be Joshua Bragg, David Douget, Karl Dommert, Jason Manuel, Dale Gotte and Joseph Taylor.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Corey Rasberry.
