Marie Pauline Stanford

The family and friends of Marie Pauline Stanford are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on Sept. 27, 2021, at the age of 77.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date.

Marie was born in Beaumont, Texas, to Jules Menou, II, and Susie Ritter on Sept. 4, 1944.

Marie was a caretaker for the State School for many years. She dedicated her life to taking care of her family. Marie was a loving and generous wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister.

Sher loved being with her family and she especially liked holidays and get-togethers. Marie was a great cook and loved to try new recipes. She had may friends and was well known in the community. She will be greatly missed by all.

Marie is survived by her husband of 59 years, Alex J. Stanford of Egan; her sons, Alex Joseph Stanford, II, of Welsh, Stephen “Tater” Anthony Stanford of Lafayette and Joel Travis Stanford of Welsh; her daughters, Colleen Renee Stanford of Egan and Candice Stanford of Egan; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; her brothers, Jules Menou, II, of Crowley, David Menou of Lafayette, Joe Menou of Crowley and Harvey Menou of Sulphur; her sisters, Cherie LeJeune of Jennings, Elvina Prudhomme of Lafayette and Mariette Granger of Iota.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Kelsey Stanford; her daughter, Cynthia Ann Stanford; her grandchildren, Terris and Kaleb Stanford; and her sister, Suzette LaBelle.
