LAKE ARTHUR - A Mass of Christian burial for Mary Jane Conner, 79, of Lake Arthur will be held in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at 10 a.m.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur today, Tuesday, April 2, 2019, from 3-9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral mass.

Mary will be laid to rest in St. Anthony Cemetery in Lake Arthur.

Mary was born in Lafayette on June 5, 1939, to Alfey Gaspard, Sr. and Marie Myers Gaspard. She was called to her Heavenly Father on March 31, 2019. Mary was a homemaker and dedicated her life to caring for her family. She loved to cook, do ceramics, listen to the radio and play games on her computer. Mary was a kind and loving person and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mary is survived by her two sons, Ronald Conner (Carmen) of Venezuela and Kirk Conner (Vickie) of Lake Arthur; her three daughters, Ramona Griffin (Curment) of Raceland, Linda Roy (Rolf) of Houston, Texas, and Anita Boudoin (Kevin) of Lake Arthur; her four brothers, Raymond Gaspard of Texas, Alfey Gaspard, Jr.of Louisiana, Robert Gaspard of Crowley and Johnny Gaspard of Jennings; her 17 grandchildren; her 26 greatgrandchildren; as well as two great great-grandchildren.

Mary now rests in Heaven with her parents, Alfey and Marie Gaspard, Sr.; her beloved husband, Alex Conner, Jr.; her son, Gary Conner; two brothers; and four sisters.
