It is with a heavy heart that we share with you that Mason Joseph Adams passed away on July 26, 2022.

A celebration of Mason’s life will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022, with David Bouley officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home beginning today, Friday, July 29, 2022, from 3 p.m. until the time of his service at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022.

Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mason was born in Winnie, Texas, on Oct. 30, 1958, to O’Neal Joseph Adams and Effie Marie Abshire Adams.

Mason worked as a truck driver and was a great provider for his family. He was an outdoorsman and loved fishing, crawfishing and old cars. Most of all, he loved spending time with all of his family, especially his grandchildren.

Mason was a kind and generous man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mason is survived by his three sons, Johnny Matthews of Jennings, Jonathan Matthews of Jennings and Matthew Touchet of Jennings; his six daughters, Angela Rivera (Jesus) of Jennings, Barbara Matthews of Jennings, Annette Lemaire (Frank) of Prairieville, Ala., Alysia Touchet of Catahoula, Jennifer Conner of St. Martinville and Jessica Conner of Catahoula; his two brothers, Manson Adams of Jennings and Glen Adams of Jennings; his 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Mason was preceded in death by his parents, O’Neal and Effie Adams; his wife, Maxine Adams and his brothers and sisters.

Those chosen to honor Mason as his pallbearers will be Jonathan Matthews, Jesus Colomo, Matthew Touchet, Michael Landry, Corey Lemaire and Brandon Lemaire.

Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Lemaire, Johnny Matthews, Toby Landry, Kris Lemaire, Robert Adams and Jace Melancon.
