Michael Lee Moore, Sr.
It is with a heavy heart that we share with you that our father, grandfather and brother, Michael Lee Moore, Sr., passed away peacefully at home with the love of family surrounding him on June 5, 2022. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022, with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home beginning today, Wednesday, June 8, 2022, from 4-9 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. by Deacon Mike Tramel. Visitation will resume Thursday, June 9, 2022, from 8 a.m. until the time of his service at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow in Andrus Cove Cemetery.
Michael was born in Jennings on May 21, 1953, to Lindy Adam Moore and Beatrice Elaine Stockton. Michael, nicknamed “Prankster Man,” had a great sense of humor and was the life of the party. It brought him great joy to bring happiness to others. He also enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
Michael was a kind and generous man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left behind to cherish Michael’s memories are his daughter, Dessie Moore; his two sons, Michael Moore, Jr. (Brittany), and Matthew Moore; the mother of his children, Charlotte Moore; his grandchildren, Gabriel Newman, Elizabeth Newman and Aurora Grace Moore; his brother, Richard Cormier and his sisters, Carla Chaisson (Carl) and Sandra Moore.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Lindy Adam Moore and Beatrice Elaine Stockton; his granddaughter, Chloe Michelle Moore; his brothers, Timmy Moore and Lindy Moore and his grandparents, Louis Kenny Adroin and Hilda Mae Adroin, Clyde Joseph Moore and Germane Moore.
Those chosen to honor Michael as his pallbearers will be Ryan Arceneaux, Jeremy Arceneaux, Brandon Chaisson, Kort Chaisson, Scotty Trahan, Carl Whittington, Garrett Whittington and Wyatt Whittington.
Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Cormier, Gabriel Newman, Alton Ardoin, Tommy Eason, Wilson Fuselier and Jackson Hackney.
