Ralph Houston Benoit
Funeral services for Mr. Ralph H. Benoit, 81, of Jennings will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings at 4 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021.
Visitation will be held prior to his service from 8 a.m. until services time.
Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Ralph Houston Benoit, 81, passed away at his home in Hathaway on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021.
Ralph was a native of Jennings and longtime resident of Hathaway. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
After graduating high school, Ralph proudly served his country in the La. Army National Guard. Ralph was a talented and skilled carpenter by trade in the area for many years.
Mr. Ralph was kind and generous, always willing to extend a helping hand to anyone in need without expecting anything in return, and was a regular at Waffle House and Stine’s Lumber Co., where he made many friends and enjoyed sharing a cup of coffee and visiting with them daily.
Above all, he was a proud, loving, supportive father to his four sons and his greatest joys continued in spending time with and making memories with his grandchildren.
Ralph is survived by his four sons, Mark (Janelle) Benoit, Dwight (Koni) Benoit and Dale (Theresa) Benoit, all of Evangeline, and Danny (Jennifer) Benoit of Hathaway; his nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Joseph Benoit and Laura Mae Benoit; three brothers, Earl Benoit, Nason Benoit and Russell “Pat” Benoit; and his former wife and mother of his four sons, Glenda Faye McFarlain.
Those selected with the honor of serving as pallbearers for Mr. Benoit will be Danny Benoit, Dale Benoit, Mark Benoit, Dwight Benoit, Severn Murray and David Benoit.
Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Cormier, Aaron Benoit and Jennifer Benoit.
The Benoit family also wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Chastity Cormier, Hospice of Acadiana and to the many family members and friends who helped and cared for Ralph throughout this difficult time.
