Randy James Guidry
Funeral services for Randy James Guidry, 34, of Maurice, formerly of the Hathaway area, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021, in Miguez Funeral Home Chapel, with Deacon Bill Vincent officiating.
Visitation for Mr. Guidry began at noon Monday, Aug. 2, 2021, and continued until 8 p.m. A rosary was recited at 6 p.m.
Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Church Cemetery in Maurice.
Mr. Guidry was a 2006 graduate of Hathaway High School. After graduation, he served his country as a U.S. Marine.
He continued serving his country working in law enforcement for the past 13 years in various positions for Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office, Lafayette Police Department, Abbeville Police Department, Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Department and, currently, with the Youngsville Police Department.
Randy enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He was recently elected president of Blue Knights LA XIV Law Enforcement Club, a role he served with great honor. His most cherished role was that of being dad to his little buckaroo, Wyatt, who he enjoyed spending time with and was patiently awaiting the arrival of his baby girl, Jolie. .
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beautiful wife, Brooke Trahan Guidry; son, Wyatt James Guidry; soon-to-be-born baby girl, Jolie Guidry; parents, Lorne James and Jessica Istre Guidry; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Norris and Tessa Trahan; sister, Courtney Guidry of Kentucky; two brothers, Cody (Nicki) Guidry and Rhett Guidry, both of Hathaway; godchild, Chyler; nieces, Chloey, Sienna and Adeline; and nephew Noah.
He was preceded in death by his birth mother, Christine Beard Guidry.
