Sarah Billingsley Schultz
JENNINGS — Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Billingsley Shultz, 90, of Jennings, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 1 p.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eric Sonnier and Pastor Brian Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Visitation for Mrs. Shultz will begin Saturday, Sept.16 at 10 a.m. and will continue until the 1 p.m. service.
Mrs. Shultz passed away peacefully on Sept. 13, 2023, in Lake Charles.
She was born on July 30, 1933, in Winona, Miss. to Martin Charles Billingsley and Nina Davis Billingsley. She attended MSCW College for Women, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics.
Sarah moved to Crowley for work and met her husband while working. It was the beginning of a long and happy marriage of 65 years. After they married, they moved to Jennings and have lived here for those 65 years. Mrs. Shultz was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church, as well a member of Entre Nous, Revelers and coffee club. She also served as a Pink Lady at Jennings American Legion Hospital, volunteered at the Jennings High School Library and was a leader and teacher of the girl’s auxiliary at First Baptist Church. Mrs. Shultz was a loving and caring person who strove to emulate the life of a true Christian. She was a devoted mother, a friend to all and she enjoyed the life she shared with her husband until his death.
Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Kelly Low and Laurie Drukteinis (Martin); one brother, William (Sara) Billingsley; four grandchildren, Casey ( Tati) Druga, Will (Sara) Low, Holly Low and Pierce (Emma) Low; and two great grandchildren, Finley Druga and Allison Low.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and soulmate of 65 years, Ronald Shultz; her parents and one brother, Charles Billingsley.
