It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family Shannon Marie Fontenot announces her passing from this life on Oct. 10, 2019, at the age of 49.

Funeral Services for Shannon Marie Fontenot, 49, of Jennings will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings today, Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019, at 7 p.m.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home today, Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 3 p.m. until the time of her service at 7 p.m.

Shannon was born in Monroe on July 10, 1970. Shannon loved to do arts and crafts, LSU football, all of her animals and helping family and friends. She was a kind and loving person and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Shannon is survived by her husband, Hillman Fontenot of Jennings; her daughter, Samantha Faulkner (Jeremy) of Eunice; her son, Shane Fontenot of Jennings; and her five grandchildren, Nicholas, Serenity, William, Maddie-Lyn and Aria.

Shannon was preceded in death by her parents, Emery and Nelda Marcantel; and her brothers, Shane, Chris, Derek and Bubba.
