Stella Mae McLean Huff

Memorial services for Mrs. Stella Mae McLean Huff, 84, of Jennings will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, in Miguez Funeral Home Chapel.

Memorial visitation will begin Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

The family is honoring her wishes of cremation.

Mrs. Huff passed away Sunday, Feb. 29, 2023, at Oschner American Legion Hospital in Jennings.

Mrs. Stella was born Aug. 28, 1938, in Jennings to Pierre McLean and Stella Ruth Prather. She was a 1956 graduate of Jennings High School.

She became an LPN in 1961. Her first job was working for Dr. Louis Shirley, Sr. In 1967, she became employed by Jennings American Legion Hospital for 53 years until her retirement in 2019. She loved her job, patients, doctors and coworkers.

She enjoyed gardening, going to church and visiting. But most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Cindy Cormier; three grandchildren, Matthew Cormier, Sarah Cormier and Shelby (Jared) Broussard, all of Jennings; four great-grandchildren, Mariah, Bentley, Jackson and Addi Mae and her sister, Shirley Williams of Summerville, S.C.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert Huff; two sisters, Harriet Byrd and Helen Oakes and two brothers, Leroy and RC McLean.
