Teena Maria Lopez

It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Teena Maria Lopez announces her passing from this life on March 27, 2019 at the age of 58.

Funeral services for Teena Maria Lopez, 58, of Jennings will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Monday, April 1, 2019, at 2 p.m.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, March 31, 2019, from 4-9 p.m. and will resume on Monday, April 1, until the time of her service at 2 p.m.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Teena was born in Jennings to Stacey Thibodeaux and Jeanette Myers Thibodeaux on May 25, 1960. She was a homemaker who dedicated her life to the care of her family which she dearly loved. Teena was a good listener, great mother and role model to any and all who needed. She also liked to fish and work in her garden. Teena was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Teena is survived by her husband, John R. Lopez of Jennings; her two daughters, Nicole Thibodeaux of Jennings and Glevenia Lopez of Jennings; her three brothers, Darrell Thibodeaux (Peggy) of Moss Bluff, John Stacey Thibodeaux of Hackberry and Marshal Daigle; her two sisters, Shirley Miller of Church Point and Belinda Abshire (Jessie) of Hackberry; her godchild, Rachel Thibodeaux; and her three grandchildren, Kristan, Destiny and Makayla.

Teena was preceded in death by her parents, Stacey and Jeanette Myers Thibodeaux; her brother, Dalton Thibodeaux; and her cousin, Ricky “Smooth” Louviere.
