Thomas Barnett

It is with a heavy heart that we share with you that Thomas Barnett passed away on Nov. 1, 2021.

A Celebration of Thomas’ life will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, with Rev. Brian Wells officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, from 9 a.m. until the time of his service at 1 p.m.

Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Thomas was born in Jennings on May 24, 1939, to George Barnett and Winnie Talley Barnett.

Thomas loved to barbecue, drink coffee, smoke cigars and visit with family and friends.

He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed attending services. Thomas’ greatest joys came from making memories with all of his family and the time he was able to spend with them.

Thomas was a kind and generous man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Thomas is survived by his son, Tim Pickens (Cindy) of Houston, Texas; his five grandchildren, Alicia Pickens, Chris Pickens, Michelle Pickens, Cory Pickens and Hampton Pickens; and his great-grandchild, Kate Pickens.

Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Breaux Barnett; his parents, George and Winnie Barnett; his sons, Kevin Barnett and Troy Pickens; his daughter, Rhonda Pickens; and his brother, Clifton Barnett.
