Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Tim married his lifelong love, Gayle, in 1993 and the raised their family together in Hathaway. Tim was a member of the Lake Arthur Yacht Club for many years and enjoyed piloting his boat, “Southern Trawl.” He served as Commadore, took crabbing trips and visited with his many friends at the club. Tim loved being outdoors, maintaining his yard, restoring old farm equipment, vintage electronics and listening to local bands. He was also a great cook, won a jambalaya cookoff and enjoyed any opportunity to cook and get together with family and friends.
Tim had a lifelong passion for rodeo and started riding a bucking Shetland pony at 8 years old. He participated in rodeo throughout junior high and high school, as well as college, winning several belt buckles in bareback bucking horse events. Tim hung up his spurs to pursue an opportunity with Conoco Phillips, but never lost the swagger of a man who defined courage as “being scared to death and saddling up anyway” – John Wayne.
He was a kind and generous man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Tim is survived by his father, Jeffery Hebert of JenningsA; his wife of 30 years, Gayle Gonthier Hebert of Jennings; his children, Diana Hebert of New Orleans, Kristine Richard (Bart) of Jennings and Timothy Dylan Hebert Aguilar (Arturo) of Ringold, Ga., and his granddaughter, Luxie Richard, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
