Vernon Lee Bergeaux
The family and friends of Vernon Lee Bergeaux are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on Oct. 30, 2019, at the age of 84.
Funeral Services for Vernon Lee Bergeaux, 84, of Jennings will be held in Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, at 10 a.m., with Father Charles McMillin officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home beginning today, Sunday, Nov. 3, from 1-9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume Monday, Nov. 4, from 8 a.m. until the time of his funeral service.
Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery with Full Military Rites.
Vernon was born in Tee-Mamou to Adrian Bergeaux and Effie Doucet Bergeaux on March 7, 1935. Vernon served our country honorably in the Army. Vernon loved watching baseball, fishing and his dogs. Most of all, he loved the time he was able to spend with all of his family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Vernon was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Vernon is survived by his son, Eric Bergeaux of Westlake; his three daughters, Carla Klasek (Jim) of Littlestown, Penn., Tina Whitman of Littlestown, Penn., and Kim Chambers (Chris) of Grand Junction, Colo.; his two brothers, Rodney Bergeaux of Jennings and Murry “Kino” Bergeaux of Jennings; his two sisters, Margie Cormier of Jennings and Ruth Crochet of Jennings; his sister-in-law, Fern Godeaux of Jennings; his eight grandchildren, Aaron, Cody, Eric, Brandi, Ashley, Derek, Matthew and Addison; and his nine great-grandchildren.
Vernon was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mable Bergeaux; his parents, Adrian and Effie Bergeaux; his son, Dwayne Bergeaux; four brothers; and four sisters.
