Winfield Yeatman ‘Bubby’ Hundley, Jr.
LAKE ARTHUR — Memorial services for Mr. Winfield Yeatman “Bubby” Hundley, Jr., 83, of Lake Arthur were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, with Rev. Jay Alexius officiating.
Visitation for Mr. Hundley began at 11:30 a.m. in the church and continued until the Mass of Christian Burial began at 1 p.m.
Mr. Hundley was born Aug. 17, 1939, in Eunice to Winfield Y. Hundley and Mabel Broussard Hundley.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus Council 3012 and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus.
Mr. Hundley moved to Lake Arthur in 1961 and began farming until the early 1970s. He was the first farmer in Jeff Davis Parish to utilize flood gates on a farm. In the early 70s, he began a career as a supervisor in the oil and gas industry.
Mr. Hundley, or “Bubby” as he was known, was a great storyteller and a man of many, many words who will be remembered fondly by family and friends.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Judy Frey Hundley; daughter Wendy (Dale) Hotard; son Peter Hundley; three grandchildren, Pete (Ashton) Hotard, Emma (Evans) Henry and David Hotard and three great-grandchildren, Colette and Nolan Hotard and Yeatman Henry.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bruce Hundley.
