Winnie May Thibodeaux Tatum
Funeral services for Mrs. Winnie May Thibodeaux Tatum, 79, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, in the chapel of Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings, immediately followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home today, Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023, from 3-9 p.m. and will resume Thursday from 8 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m.
Winnie May Thibodeaux Tatum was called to her Heavenly home on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Iowa.
She was the daughter of Abram and Francis Thibodeaux, born on Jan. 11, 1944.
Winnie managed a local RaceTrac for many years and held various other positions before retiring. She was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and loved going to church, go shopping and in her younger years, enjoyed traveling with her husband and going to the casino. She also enjoyed playing pogo and learning new things.
Winnie was a loving mother and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be lovingly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Winnie is survived by her husband, Bill Tatum; her children, Dalton Bouley (Monica) of Carencro, Deborah Thomas (Hurricane) of Iowa, Katina Benoit of Lake Charles, Louis Bouley (Donna Ann) of Hornbeck and David Bouley (Lori) of Ville Platte.; her grandchildren, Kelly, Faith, Morgan, Isaac, Brittany, Justin, Brandon, Amber, Ashley, Shandelynn, Cade, Blaze, Troy, Erin, Hope, Joey and Andrew; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Pat Olsen (Trent) of Houston, Texas and her stepchildren, Sherry Tatum Bombria, Heidi Overley and Christopher Nini.
Winnie is preceded in death by her parents, Abram and Francis Thibodeaux; children Roxanne Maire Bouley Aucoin, Merlin Joseph “Joey” Bouley, Julius Bouley and Janella Bouley; brothers Joseph Howard Thibodeaux and Louis Bouley and sisters Barbara Nell Dietz and Dorothy Jane Hebert.
