Robert Davis

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Davis, 97, of Jennings were held on Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at 1 p.m. in First Church of Christ, with Bro. Jack Harris officiating.

Visitation for Mr. Davis was held on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 9, from 2-8 p.m., and resumed at the church Monday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Burial followed in Maxie Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Mr. Davis enjoyed baking, listening to Gospel music and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed hosting his coffee club on Saturdays.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are one daughter, Yvonne Bourque, and one son, Byron (JoAnn) Davis, both of Jennings; his grandchildren, Travis (Rachelle) Jones, Kenneth (Lindsey) Jones, Brent (Rhonda) Davis, John Davis, Robin Mouton and Kim Davis; and 13 greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Cruz and Eveleen Cormier Davis; his wife, Mary Aspize Ewing Davis; a son, Johnny Davis; a daughter, Barbara Davis; three brothers, Elvin, Ivy and J.D. Davis; a grandchild, Blaine Davis; and two sons-in-law, Travis Jones and Joe Bourque.

The family would like to thank the staff of Heart of Hospice and the staff at Jeff Davis Living Center.
